(Showbiz) Azmil, I will miss you brother – Ogy Ahmad Daud

KUALA LUMPUR: Shocked to find out the news of Azmil Mustapha’s passing, his co-star in Ali Setan, actress Fauziah Ahmad Daud uploaded a picture of him with words expressing her disbelief.

Fauziah a.k.a. Ogy, 55, who played Asmidar in the 1985 movie, wrote: “Dia Da Takada..Sahabat Ku Da Dipanggil Pulang Olih Ya Khaliq..Tergamam Mendapat Berita Ini..Azmil..Aku Akan Merindui Mu Sbg Seorang Abang, Rakan Lakon Dan Sahabat Dunia Dan Aklhirat..Aku Mendoakan Kau Ditempatkan Didalam Golongan Org2 Yg Yg Beriman Dan Disayangi Allah..Aamiin Al Fatihah Buat Tn Hj Azmil Mustapha."

Other artists who posted the news on their social media included award-winning singer Faizal Tahir who re-posted an Instagram posting from a news portal.

The popular 1980s actor passed away at 12.40pm earlier today due to heart failure.

Azmil who was well-remembered for his role as Ali in the classic movie, passed away in his sleep at his home in Shah Alam, Selangor. He was 65.

Azmil is survived by his two ex-wives and five children, Shamira, Nurazalea Arifah, Nor Amalia Batrisya, Mohd Bazli Zhafri and Nur Alya Iman.

BH Online reported that the news of his passing was shared by his son, Mohd Bazli.

“Although it is hard for us, we have to accept that his time has come,” he said.

For the past two years, Azmil’s health had deteriorated and had been in and out of hospitals due to breathing difficulty.

He was last seen onscreen in 2004, cast as a cameo in Puteri Gunung Ledang.

Prior to that, he had quit showbiz to focus on his religious studies.
