(Showbiz) Sheila Majid performs a duet with Afgan in his new album

KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian singer-songwriter Afgan has a brand new album, Dekade, and one of the tracks is a duet with none other than our very own Datuk Sheila Majid.

The two perform Afgan’s hit number Bawalah Cintaku composed by Bebi Romeo. The song is one of the tracks in his 2010’s The One album.

“When we wanted to record the song, I thought this would be a good number for a duet. And who else would be better than Sheila?

“We’d always wanted to perform a duet together, but we haven’t found a perfect song before this,” said Afgan, in a video posting on his Instagram account yesterday.

It’s a known fact that the 28-year-old artists whose full name is Afgansyah Reza is a huge fan of Sheila, and the two have been good friends, with Sheila always attending his concerts here.

The new album is to celebrate Afgan’s decade long as a recording artiste.

Released in the republic recently, Dekade consists 14 tracks, including three numbers from his previous albums.

Besides Sheila, other artistes he collaborated with in the album include Datuk Rossa, Isyana Sarasvati and Raisa.

He wrote on his Instagram: “As a gift to my incredible fans for an amazing 10 years in music, today i’m releasing my fifth studio album, DEKADE...i’m so grateful that i got to work with so many great talents on this album, such as, the legendary @missmajid, @isyanasarasvati, @rendypandugo & @ramengvrl”.
