Funnyman Nabil to direct thriller

HAVING produced comedy shows and telemovies through his production house, Nabil Production, funnyman and TV host Nabil Ahmad will soon direct his first full-fledged thriller.

He kept up the suspense by revealing little about Qutil, which means murder, or kill, in Arabic.

“I can’t reveal the storyline, but the film will be gory along the lines of Jason Goes To Hell and Texas Chainsaw.”

He said he wrote the story.

“We may collaborate with an Indonesian production house.

“Filming will begin once the cast is finalised,” said the 34-year-old artiste, who had just wrapped up filming The Hantus, a TV horror comedy.

On sitting in the director’s chair, Nabil said he felt more comfortable working behind the scenes.

“I want to show everyone what I am capable of when it comes to handling a production. This is only the beginning. There is so much more that I want to explore.”

Nabil is the host of Astro’s reality programme, Ceria Megastar, which will premiere on March 2.
