#Showbiz: Madhuri Dixit to replace Sridevi in Karan Johar's 'Shiddat'?

KUALA LUMPUR: Before her untimely passing last month due to drowning, legendary Indian actress Sridevi was on a roll with Bollywood hit films like Mom and English Vinglish.

Her sudden demise at age 54 came as a shock to fans worldwide whom have been waiting to see the award-winning actress in action in another popular film.

Although that will not happen now, the late actress was said to have been very excited about being a part of famed producer and director Karan Johar's new film, Shiddat.

According to a news report by DNA, her contemporary, Madhuri Dixit, 50, may step into the role that was supposed to be carried by Sridevi.

The film is set to feature a stellar ensemble cast, which includes Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Singa and Aditya Roy Kapur.

An undisclosed source had apparently let on that the makers were in talks with Madhuri for the role.

The award-winning actress is said to be quite close to Karan who will be producing the film. Although Madhuri hasn’t officially said yes yet, he feels that it will be an apt way to pay tribute to Sridevi if she does take it on.

The film is expected to be directed by Abhishek Varman of 2 Stated fame.
