#Showbiz: No Bollywood for Sanjna after director wanted her 'in bed'

KUALA LUMPUR: Pulau actress Sanjna Suri, 31, has declined to star in Bollywood movies after a bad experience with an Indian director.

In an interview with Harian Metro Online yesterday, Sanjna said she had initially wanted to act in Hindi movies but the "terrible experience" made her stay away from Indian cinema.

"One director whom I met said that he could cast me in his movie, provided I 'went to bed' with him. Terrible person!" said Sanjna who met the director in 2017.

"And even if I were to do such things he still might not have cast me."

Sanjna has not given up hope of starting in films outside Malaysia, such as in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

"I have friends working there, so I will still give Saudi Arabia and UAE a try someday."

Sanjna is happy to act in Malaysian movies since she is a "patriotic Malaysian" who enjoys working with homegrown talents be they actors, actresses, producers and directors.
