#Showbiz: Wanna One to return to KL in July

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian fans of South Korean pop group Wanna One will have a second chance to enjoy its musical magic, minus the mishaps of last January.

Fans will now have a July 21 date with the 11-member K-Pop group at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

Wanna One which comprises Kang Daniel, Park Ji-hoon, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Lai Kuan-lin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young and Ha Sung-woon is set to entertain Malaysian fans in its One: The World Wanna One World Tour, jointly presented by YJ Partners and IMC Live Group.

Daniel, Ji-hoon, Dae-hwi, Jae-hwan, Seong-wu, Woo-jin, Kuan-lin, Ji-sung, Min-hyun, Jin-young and Sung-woon have enjoyed massive success since they got together as a group in August last year, through South Korean reality talent show Produce 101 (Season 2).

Their first album 1X1=1 (To Be One) sold more than a million copies, making them the first K-Pop group to do so with a debut album.

Their second album 0+1=1 (I Promise You) released on March 19, is already on course towards out-selling its predecessor.

Besides the Malaysian capital, Wanna One will also be taking its tour to 13 cities, including San Jose, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta in the United States, Singapore, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Melbourne.

Wanna One first performed in Malaysia at Stadium Negara on Jan 19.

That showcase, Wanna One First Fan Meeting In Kuala Lumpur attracted more than 5,000 people but it turned chaotic as several fans fainted and others were injured within the first 10 minutes.

While the group was performing its opening set, fans in the packed rock zones pushed one another to the front in an effort to get closer to the stage. As a result, some fainted due to the over-crowded environment, while some suffered injuries due to all the pushing.
