#Showbiz: German metal band Helloween will now perform at KL's Mega Star Arena

KUALA LUMPUR: The upcoming Helloween: Pumpkins United World Tour – Live in Malaysia 2018 on April 28 will take place at Mega Star Arena, in Kuchai Lama, here instead of the original venue at MAEPS in Serdang.

According to the organisers, the Mega Star Arena is a better venue in terms of logistics.

Reunited since 2017, the Pumpkins United World Tour is set to run its last leg in December 2018 which includes a headlining slot for Germany’s Wacken (the biggest metal festival in the world).

Malaysia is the only country in South East Asia that the legendary heavy metal band from Germany will be performing in.

Under the Pumpkins United flag, the band will feature not just its current vocalist Andi Deris, but former vocalists Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen (who is also the lead guitarist).

The concert will also showcase the talents of Michael Weikath (guitar), Markus Grosskopf (bass), Sascha Gerstner (guitar) and Daniel Loble.

Known for fast and melodious metal numbers like Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part I & II, I Want Out, Dr Stein, Tale That Wasn't Right and How Many Tears, the outfit has since become one of the most influential metal bands with a career reaching as far back as 1984.

It has toured with the likes of Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Dio, Slayer and Ozzy Osbourne, and played at many metal festivals around the globe, such as Brazil’s Rock in Rio, Japan’s Loudpark and the Woodstock in Poland, which they headlined in front of over 500,000 fans.

Having sold over eight million records so far, Helloween has released 15 studio albums to date.

The upcoming concert is only open to those aged 13 and above. Those between the ages of 13 and 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets to the concert are priced between RM245 and RM850. They are available at ticketpro.com.my
