KUALA LUMPUR: Fans of Korean pop group BTS are over the moon seeing one of its key members Kim Taehyung or V singing and dancing in baju Melayu.
A BTS fan identified only as Sylleblossom tweeted yesterday that she was delighted to see a recent video of the singer performing in a stylish Malay traditional wear which she had sent him as a gift last year.
“Cool! Taehyung wears the baju Melayu Cekak Musang we sent to him. It’s great to see him performing in it this Ramadan,” said Sylleblossom.
She also showed Netizens a close-up photo of the traditional Malay costume she gave Taehyung in a tweet on Feb 15.
"So here I give him a set of Baju Melayu. Yeah, we are not joking," she tweeted.
Sylleblossom’s tweet was retweeted more than 10,000 times and received 12,000 likes.
“Wow! He looks great in it. Timely for Ramadan, too,” said Hajar.
“Great fashion sense, combining cap, dancing shoes and a splendid Malay costume,” said Ilya.
Seven-member BTS is set to attend the Billboard Music Awards in Los Angeles, the United States today.
It will be the first South Korean pop group to perform at the awards.
Last year, the group attended the awards and won Top Social Artiste.
The awards also features performances by Janet Jackson, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato and Dua Lipa.
Last October, BTS’ previous album “Love Yourself: Her” peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart.
