#Showbiz: Fans expect baby news, Fattah delivers musical gift

KUALA LUMPUR: Third time’s a charm for a bun in the oven? Not yet apparently for celebrity couple Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura.

In January, popular singer and actress Fazura was heard saying she had cravings while in London, which left fans expecting some good news. Turned out she was only joking.

Then last month the public offered premature well wishes after catching a glimpse of the 34-year-old beauty in a photo at a local fashion show sporting what looked like a baby bump, courtesy of a bad angle and an over-abundant outfit.

The latest speculation on whether she was with child came recently after her 28-year-old singer and actor husband teased fans about letting them in on something they had been praying for in an Instagram post.

Although optimistic and hopeful for the power couple who tied the knot in November last year, fans once again found out that there would not be a “Fattzura mini-me” popping out anytime soon.

On the bright side, the announcement was for Fattah’s new Raya-themed song, titled Syawal Kali Ini.

The 1234U and Wanita Terindah singer admitted that the post was a gimmick to promote the release of his first ever Raya song, composed by Aizat Amdan and Mel Ramlan.

He also added that he felt blessed and touched by the initial reaction of their fans and likened their supporters’ assumption to wishes and prayers for them to have their first progeny.

“The pregnancy is God’s will alone. But I don’t blame our fans because they only want the best for us. I hope they continue to pray for me and my wife so that there will be good news in the future.

"I feel really blessed since our union was also partly due to the well wishes and prayers of our fans,” said Fattah during the launch event of his new Raya single in Shah Alam yesterday.

A video clip for the song, directed by Fattah, was screened at the function and it also featured his folks in it.

"I thought of using my parents in the video instead of relying on outside talent. This was my directorial debut after all and their presence made the whole affair much more meaningful,” he said.

Elaborating on the tune, the hunky star added that it aptly related to the celebration of the month of Syawal together with family.

The new single, which is a collaboration with fragrance company AJ De’ Parfum, will be sold with certain colognes and a portion of the proceeds from the sales will be channeled to selected charity homes.

Fattah, who is ambassador for the brand, is also its chief executive officer.
