#Showbiz: TV producer A. Aida weds young actor Ariff Aziz

PETALING JAYA: The two met three years ago, and yesterday, television producer Datuk A. Aida tied the knot with actor Ariff Aziz.

Aida, 47, and Tundukkan Playboy Itu star Ariff, 29, were married in a ceremony at a hotel here at 8.50pm. The ceremony was attended by 300 guests who were mainly their family members and close friends.

The solemnisation ceremony was conducted by the imam of Masjid Darul Ehsan in Subang Jaya here, Mohammad Imran Nasohah.

Ariff whose real name is Wan Izma Ariff Abdul Aziz presented RM300 mas kahwin together with three trays containing RM20,000 for dowry (wang hantaran), a 1.42 carat Cartier ring and an Hermes handbag.

Aida whose real name is Zaidah Awang returned Ariff’s gifts with five trays containing a Hublot watch, a ring, a Louis Vuitton bag, Chanel perfume, sweets and cakes.

The newlyweds, were dressed in matching white outfits, had worked together in several drama projects under A. Aida Productions since 2015.

They became close three months ago on the set of her latest film Ratu Kala Jengking: Puteri Keranda which will be screened next year.

Love blossomed between them after Ariff’s engagement came to an end during the same period. He proposed to Aida on July 4 at a Middle Eastern restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.

The celebrity couple’s wedding reception will be held at her holiday home in Janda Baik, Pahang on April 20 next year. The date marks her 49th birthday.

This is Aida’s fourth marriage. She has three children and one of her former husbands was singer Ameng of Spring.

Rumours about Aida’s and Ariff’s romance were confirmed early this month when a video of Ariff proposing to Aida went viral.
