#Showbiz: BlackPink's 'Ddu-Du Ddu-Du' is fastest K-Pop MV to hit 350mil views!

KUALA LUMPUR: Red hot K-Pop girl group BlackPink’s latest hit single Ddu-Du Ddu-Du has certainly been making an impact around the world.

But the catchy earworm’s accompanying music video is also breaking records.

According to Soompi, the flashy music video which was released on June 15 had surpassed 350 million views on YouTube as of Sept 12, which means that it took 88 days to hit that impressive milestone.

This makes it the fastest K-Pop music video to have reached that envious amount of views, beating K-Pop giant BTS’ previous record with DNA.

The popular male group’s music video for DNA took 218 days to reach that same mark.

This comes after the recent news that the music video to Ddu-Du Ddu-Du had won Best Dance Video award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards Japan.

The two-year-old quartet, made up of Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa, now has three music videos that have reached over 350 million views. The other two are As If It’s Your Last and Boombayah.

Other South Korean K-Pop bands that also have music videos in access of 350 million views are BTS, Twice and Bigbang.

On a different note, BlackPink had also recently announced that the group would be staging its first solo concert in Seoul in November.
