#Showbiz: K-Pop group Seventeen thrills Malaysian fans with 3-hour concert

KUALA LUMPUR: About 5,000 Seventeen fans had the time of their lives when the K-Pop boy group entertained them to the max during its three-hour concert here last night.

Held at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Seri Kembangan here, the group’s Ideal Cut Live In Kuala Lumpur show saw its 13 members performing 25 songs complete with energetic choreography, charming personas and stunning vocals.

Known for their self-produced tracks and synchronised dancing skills, the boys performed hits including Highlight, Thank You, Pretty U, Very Nice and Clap.

This marks Seventeen’s second concert here; the first was at Stadium Negara last year.

Amazed to see the crowd keeping the same energy from the beginning to finish, Los Angeles-born member Joshua said to the screaming audience: “It just makes us want to work even harder on our performance. We also know that we’re blessed to have you support and love us, so thank you.”

“We’ll certainly come back for another concert. You guys will attend, right?” group leader S.Coups asked the crowd. The reply was an ear-splitting “Yes!”

Having debuted in 2015, Seventeen also comprises Hoshi, Jun, Dino, Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan and Vernon.

The 13 members are divided into three sub-units namely Hip-Hop Unit, Vocal Unit; and Performance Unit.

In its early days, Seventeen bagged several Best New Artiste and Best Rookie awards.

Last year at the prestigious Mnet Asian Music Awards, the boys took home the awards for Worldwide Favourite Artiste and Best Dance Performance — Male Group.

Ideal Cut Live In Kuala Lumpur was brought by Fast Track Events, together with Pledis Entertainment, Live Nation Korea and Shownote.
