KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Intan Najuwa had a rude shock yesterday after receiving many calls from friends expressing concern that she was going to be arrested.
While the situation did make her feel like a criminal on the loose, the 21-year-old artiste explained that she had been called in as a witness to a drug-related case and not a suspect of a criminal offence.
“No, police are not going to nab me, they want me to give a statement. I’m a witness to a proceeding involving a dadah case which took place three years ago,” she said in a news report yesterday.
Intan also said she had received a letter from the authorities back then, giving her the option of serving as a witness to the case, but she chose not to.
“At the time, I did not want to be involved in the proceedings, but looks like I have to now. I’m going to give police my full cooperation, and at the same time I hope nobody spreads false news about me to damage my reputation,” she said, calling on Netizens to stop this tell-tale about her being involved in drug-taking.
The Kekasih Paksa Rela star has been identified by police as an important witness to a drug case at the Shah Alam High Court between Oct 8 and 10.
