#Showbiz: BTS' Japanese 'Fake Love' tops global iTunes charts

KUALA LUMPUR: Although BTS is currently in the middle of the European leg of its world tour, the K-Pop phenomenon is still making an impact on the charts globally.

According to Soompi, the seven-member group’s latest Japanese release has peaked at No. 1 on the iTunes Top Song charts in 38 different regions.

They include Indonesia, Vietnam, Argentina, Chile, the Netherlands, Sweden and Finland.

Released on Oct 16, BTS’ pre-release track, Fake Love, is a Japanese version of the title track from the Love Yourself: Tear album.

The Japanese tune is a teaser for its upcoming Japanese singles album.

Before this, the original Korean version of Fake Love was also a success, having dominated the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Top Songs charts for 52 different regions.

It had also debuted at No. 10 on Billboard’s top songs chart, the Hot 100.

The South Korean music outfit is expected to release its Japanese singles album on Nov 7.

Aside from Fake Love, the upcoming album will also contain a Japanese version of Airplane Pt. 2, as well as a remix of Idol and a remix of the Japanese version of Fake Love.

In a fitting move to coincide with the release of the singles album, BTS will be continuing it’s Love Yourself world tour in Japan with a number of concerts in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka from Nov 13 till Feb 17.
