#Showbiz: BTS-Charlie Puth collaboration to mark highlight of Korean awards do

KUALA LUMPUR: The season of collaboration between K-Pop sensations and international artistes continues with the latest being South Korean bigwigs BTS working with hot American star Charlie Puth.

According to Soompi, the K-Pop giant would be performing a special collaboration with the 26-year-old Grammy-nominee at the upcoming 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards (MGA) on Nov 6.

The organisers of 2018 MGA, a major music awards show that is held annually in South Korea, made the announcement yesterday.

A representative had said: “The group BTS and the American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth are preparing to stage a collaboration performance at the 2018 MGA.”

The two popular artistes had previously shown a lot of love for each other on social media.

In 2017, the American singer liked BTS member Jungkook’s cover of his hit, We Don’t Talk Anymore, on Twitter.

When Puth later wrote that he really likes BTS’ music, the music group quickly returned the love with a tweet that read: “We really like Charlie Puth’s music.”

Last year also saw Puth requesting for BTS to check its DMs (Direct Messages) on Twitter, which got fans excited about a possible collaboration.

BTS and Puth’s special performance for the 2018 MGA is at the Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon, South Korea.
