#Showbiz: 'Once is enough, I'm so done!' — Siti Saleha on playing lesbian role

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Siti Saleha Mohd Baharum is anxious to see the reaction from moviegoers, especially her husband, on her lesbian character in the horror, 7ujuh.

The film directed by Raja Mukhriz Raja Ahmed Kamaruddin, which opens in cinemas tomorrow, sees her playing the role of a homosexual woman named Tina.

“When I accepted the offer five years ago, I didn’t think much of it, except that I saw it as a challenge for me to become a more versatile actress by playing different roles.

“And now that LGBT has, in recent times, become a hot issue, I’m a little worried to see how moviegoers would react,” she said in a news report yesterday.

The 28-year-old artiste who tied the knot in July last year also admitted that she was especially nervous to hear her husband’s response.

Asked if she would play the role of an LGBT character in future, Siti Saleha said Tina would be the first and the last for her.

“Once is enough, I’m so done. I’d rather not take on controversial roles which could land me in hot soup,” she said.

The film, produced by Primeworks Studios, also stars Cristina Suzanne, Marsha Milan Londoh, Johan As’ari, Faizal Hussein, Riz Amin, Aeril Zafrel, Pekin Ibrahim and Wan Hanafi Su.
