KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Siti Nursairah Tarudin denies allegations by certain quarters that she has been forcing her daughter, Ummi Umairah, to become a singer.
The 40-year-old artiste also known as Siti Saerah, who is Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin's younger sister, said this in her response to a comment by a Netizen on a video she shared on her TikTok account recently.
"Whatever Umai does, everything is done on her own accord and driven by her own passion.
"As a mother, I could only do my best in showing her my support and guidance," her response read.
The said Netizen initially wrote: "Sometimes I pity Umai, her parents seem to have pushed too much for her to become a singer. Anyway, good luck to Umai."
Siti Saerah added that she would ensure her daughter would go through a similar growth and learning process, just like any other child her age, step by step.
"I believe that the learning process is important for everyone, so I'll let Umai experience all the stages of growing up by herself."
