#Showbiz: Event organisers to ensure tight security for upcoming BlackPink concert

KUALA LUMPUR: Ahead of the upcoming BlackPink 2019 World Tour concert set to take place at Shah Alam's Malawati Indoor Stadium next Feb 23, event organiser Macpie Pro is working to ensure there will be maximum security on the day of the event.

Macpie Pro’s chief executive officer Ang Chee Ciang said this at a press conference held at Caffeinees restaurant today, in response to safety issues experienced by K-pop act TWICE at the same venue back in July, when they were scheduled to perform their first ever concert.

Due to safety concerns, TWICE had to abruptly cancel their concert, leaving fans feeling sad and disappointed.

“I don’t think the venue itself poses a threat for safety concerns, as we have previously hosted successful K-pop events like the K-Wave Music Festival and the iKON 2018 Continue Tour in Kuala Lumpur, as well as Winner 2018 Everywhere Tour in Kuala Lumpur at that same stadium as well.

“In fact, we are looking to organise more events at the same venue,” he said.

On another note, there is no word yet if the girl group which often sports revealing attire, would drop the sexy outfits and opt for clothes that are not offensive to local sensitivities for the show.

BlackPink, made up of Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa, is well known for hits like Ddu-Du Ddu-Du and its most recent track, Kiss And Make Up, which features British pop singer Dua Lipa.

BlackPink’s concert will start at 6pm. Tickets can be purchased at Macpie Pro’s official website (www.macpiepro.com) from Dec 12 at noon onwards at RM373 (Green Zone), RM483 (Purple Zone), RM573 (Yellow Zone), RM673 (Red Zone) and RM693 (BLINK Zone).
