#Showbiz: Blackpink's Lisa joins 'The White Lotus' Season 3 ensemble

KUALA LUMPUR: Lisa of K-pop girl group Blackpink has joined the cast of the latest season of HBO's dark comedy anthology series, "The White Lotus".

The premium United States television network announced today that the rapper, singer and dancer, whose full name is Lalisa Manobal, will be part of the cast that includes Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Scott Glenn, Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

"Lisa is represented by LLOUD Co. and is set to star in the HBO original series, 'The White Lotus: Season 3'.

"The third instalment of the Emmy-winning series will begin production in and around Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok in February, and will follow a new group of guests at another White Lotus property."

HBO added that it has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to support the filming and promotion of the third season.

Created, written and directed by Mike White, the first season premiered in July 2021 and was set in Hawaii, the US, while the second season was filmed in Sicily, Italy.

The series typically follows the guests and employees of the fictional White Lotus resort chain, whose interactions are affected by their psychosocial dysfunctions.

It was reported that White had hinted that the third season would focus on a "satirical and funny look at death, and Eastern religion and spirituality".
