#Showbiz: Umie Aida's extreme adventure in Symbulak

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress and singer Datin Seri Umi Khalsum Rahmad Ali, better known as Umie Aida, sure has a thrill-seeking side to her.

According to a news report today, the Dukun star shared a recent video clip of her holiday in Kazakhstan via an Instagram post.

The short clip featured her paragliding in the white snowy mountains of Symbulak at extreme temperatures.

The 44-year-old award-winning actress captioned the entry with: "Paragliding at Symbulak Mountain! A must for an adrenaline junkie like me. The clouds and the view from above. The most challenging part was to deal with the -20 weather!"

Symbulak is apparently the largest ski resort in Central Asia. Located in the upper part of the Medeu Valley in the Zaiilisky Alatau mountain range, it is situated at an elevation of 2,200 metres above sea level.

In the clip, she is seen being led off a steep mountain side before she glides away through the air with the help of a parachute-like canopy attached to her by a harness.

Her latest post has so far garnered close to 2,000 likes with many commenting positively on her thrilling act in the former Soviet republic.

Umie also shared a picture from the same trip in another Instagram post which featured her posing next to a hot air balloon.

Apparently, this is not Umie's first experience with an extreme sport. The self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie had previously taken the plunge from an aircraft with Sydney Skydivers in Australia from an altitude of 15,000 feet (about 4572m) in the air.
