#Showbiz: Amelina's 'Janda Anak Enam' best describes her life

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Norazlina Amir Sharipuddin or Amelina describes her latest single Janda Anak Enam as an apt description of her life.

The 45-year-old from Nilai, Negri Sembilan, is indeed a single mother of six and has been so for five years now.

“It’s actually a cynical message to all single parents. Its catchy lyrics describe the ups and downs of my days as a wife then and later, as a single mother with five kids,” she said in a news report yesterday.

Amelina added that the song has made her “a voice for single mothers” whose lives were made uncertain following the breakdown of their marriages.

“It’s a motivational song that can inspire single mothers to prove that they too can be successful and independent. It emphasises the importance of not giving up, persevering and keeping the faith.”

Amelina said it was easy to grasp and sing Janda Anak Enam as it was “all about herself”.

Composed by Kucing Manja, Janda Anak Enam is the sequel to Anak Dara which she recorded 20 years ago.

“The song has been very well received even though I’ve yet to actively promote it nationwide. Its music video with lyrics on YouTube has had more than 150,000 views.”

Amelina is hopeful that Janda Anak Enam will pave way for the production of a mini dangdut album this year.
