#Showbiz: For the first time, Malaysia boasts a film with two endings

KUALA LUMPUR: The newly-released horror film Misteri Dilaila helmed by Syafiq Yusof set a record for being the first local film to deliver alternate endings.

The buzz surrounding the film’s endings became a hot topic on social media after movie-goers were “mindblown” over the film’s ending which shown in more than one version, adding more drama to the storyline that is already filled with multiple plot twists.

“This is a concept that’s never been done before in the Malaysian film industry,” said Syafiq in a press statement.

The 26-year-old was determined to deliver something fresh and different to movie-goers, hence, opting for two different endings made for a more dramatic and creative storyline.

Produced by Astro Shaw and Skop Productions, Misteri Dilaila stars Zul Ariffin, Elizabeth Tan, Datuk Rosyam Nor, Sasqia Dahuri, Nam Ron and Mas Khan.

It centres on a mysterious tale between a married couple on vacation in a bungalow in Bukit Fraser.

On the first night, Jefri experienced strange encounters, but things took a turn for the worse when he discovered that his wife had gone missing the next morning.

When she returns, Jefri is convinced that the woman isn’t his wife despite her claiming that she is. Catch the two different endings of Misteri Dilaila at cinemas nationwide.
