#Showbiz: Poignant outpouring to Army from BTS' Jimin in vlog

KUALA LUMPUR: BTS member Jimin is usually a carefree and upbeat character just like the other six from the uber popular K-Pop music outfit.

But a recent upload of an old vlog to the South Korean group’s Bangtan TV YouTube channel featured the singer-songwriter in a more serious demeanour.

According to Koreaboo, that particular vlog which sees Jimin addressing his fans, or Army as they are known, is actually an old entry from April 13 last year.

It is believed that the 23-year-old idol had recorded the clip prior to a fan-meet event with Japanese fans.

At the time, he had just returned to his hotel room close to 2am after a recording session for the BTS album Love Yourself: Tear.

Looking back at his career path and ruminating on what being an idol meant to him over the past year, an introspective Jimin confessed that he had felt very lonely.

The idol also revealed that he had found solace in a video of BTS performing Young Forever in Japan.

Apparently, Jimin was so moved by the video, which featured the group’s fans continuing to sing the hit tune even after the seven members had stopped, that he broke down and started crying.

He also related his unbridled feelings of being stressed and down most of the time. Fortunately, Jimin added that his negative mental state started to improve drastically after he had gone on a trip with the other members of BTS.

The excursion was a good decompression from all the hard work they had put in towards the new album at the time. Jimin said that they really had lots of fun together for three days with lots of jokes and laughter going around.

After the trip, the idol added that he was filled with a new sense of drive and creativity. He wanted to release new music and was curious to see how the fans would react to it.

Jimin ended the vlog entry by acknowledging that he had found his true reason for performing and that he would be able to keep going on no matter the challenges that lied ahead.

He said: “As we went through many things, our fans truly have become our reason. They have become the reason for our existence, so we’ll continue to be together and, moving forward, we have a reason to keep singing and performing.”
