#Showbiz: Tiffany's 'Lips On Lips' goes platinum in a week!

KUALA LUMPUR: Girls’ Generation member Tiffany has many things to be happy about. The San Francisco-born K-Pop idol recently concluded her North American mini showcase tour for her new EP, Lips On Lips, which saw her performing in eight cities across the US and Canada.

But she’s also making an impression in South Korea as well. According to Soompi, the 29-year-old singer and actress posted a message of appreciation to her Korean fans on her Instagram account yesterday.

Apparently, her EP had received a platinum certification and she was feeling over the moon by its quick success.

Tiffany wrote: “While making this album, what gave me strength every time I was in desperate need of patience was my goal of getting back to you. Even though I’m far away, I never doubted for a second that you would realise how I felt as long as the music was honest.”

The Los Angeles-based artiste added: “It may be just a piece of paper, but this platinum certification means so much to me. It’s like a pat on the back and a hug, letting me know that I wasn’t wrong every time I wanted to quit but thought of you and stood up again.”

“I’m so thankful just for the fact that you were the reason for me to come back and the reason for me to stand and do music again. But thank you so much for giving me such a big gift. I’ll continue to believe in you and give back with great music,” she wrote.

The I Just Wanna Dance and Born Again singer, who performed at a mini showcase for the EP in Seoul last Tuesday, ended her post with: “Last night singing Lips On Lips for you in Seoul felt like a dream & it still does because I found out that YOU made the CD go PLATINUM in a WEEK! I love you I love you I love you.”

Earlier this month, Tiffany became the first Asian American to win the Best Solo Breakout of 2019 title at the iHeart Radio Awards in Los Angeles.
