KUALA LUMPUR: Security guard and senior citizen Yahya Manap who was beaten up by comedian Mazlan Ahmad as witnessed in the recent viral video has since forgiven him wholeheartedly.
The two met in person and settled their differences once and for all at an undisclosed location in Nilai, Negri Sembilan.
In a news report today, the 68-year-old Yahya said: “I forgive Lan for his sincerity in admitting his mistake and his willingness to apologise. Besides, with the approaching Ramadan, it is better for us to put the bad blood behind us.”
He also said that he would consult with his lawyers to withdraw the lawsuit against the 49-year-old artiste who is also known as Lan Pet Pet.
Meanwhile, Mazlan expressed his relief that Yahya had accepted his apology and was willing to put the incident behind.
“I took some time to arrange for this meeting as I needed to look for his telephone number and ensure that he is willing to meet. I’m thankful to both Pak Ya and his family for their willingness to meet me.
“I understand that he was initially still angry at me, but when he saw that I was sincerely apologising, he relented and smiled,” said Mazlan who is planning to sponsor an umrah trip for Yahya and his wife.
