#Showbiz: Sharnaaz rubbishes Syed Saddiq's idea to bring BTS to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman’s pledge yesterday to do what he can to bring international K-Pop group BTS to Malaysia for its first concert here is certainly an exciting prospect for local fans or Army.

But not everyone is thrilled by the move, especially actor Sharnaaz Ahmad who apparently took to the social media platform to air his grouse on the matter today.

The hunky 33-year-old artiste posted an Instastory criticising the young minister’s decision and added that he would bring in more seemingly manly bands instead if given the authority.

His post read: “If I was the youth minister, firstly, I’d bring in Metallica, Blink 182, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed…”

The actor ended his post with: “What’s this? K-Pop? Your head!”

Other news reports stated that Syed Saddiq had revealed yesterday in Putrajaya that he had just met with the promoter for the BTS event and were currently in the negotiation phase.

BTS’ maiden concert here is expected to be scheduled to take place sometime next year in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020.

The seven-member South Korean music outfit is currently one of the hottest pop boy bands in the world right now.
