#Showbiz: Siti stands good chance to win seat in GE15

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s No. 1 singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza is so popular that she may even get elected as a Member of Parliament in the next general election.

This is digital research company Nobleman Creation’s analysis of Malaysian celebrities who are deemed popular enough to become Yang Berhormat, provided that they contest as candidates in GE15.

The company based its findings on monthly Google searches, which revealed that 40-year-old Siti received more than 90,000 “votes”.

It also conducted research on 300 other celebrities over the last three days.

Four artistes whom Nobleman Creation deemed popular enough to win were Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor (70,000), Yuna (60,000), Aiman Tino (40,000) and Fattah Amin (30,000).

Nobleman Creation’s research came shortly after Ukrainian comedian Volodymyr Zelensky won his country’s presidential elections last Monday.

In a news report yesterday, the company’s chief executive officer Na’im Brundage said that their research team had chosen to find out which Malaysian celebrities were deemed the “most electable” if they chose to stand in the 15th general election.

Na’im said Siti was greatly admired for her talent and rapport with fans of all ages, and was also a respected entrepreneur and philanthropist.

Meanwhile, Siti said she had read about the company’s poll and reiterated that she had no interest in politics.

“My activities and products keep me ‘active’ in Google searches, and now that I’m back at work after maternity leave, I guess fans and friends on social media want to keep themselves informed of my latest events and shows,” she said.
