KUALA LUMPUR: Comedian Ebby Yus who is suffering from Stage 3 kidney disease, is touched by the intention of two individuals, including a woman, who wish to donate their organs to him.
“It’s hard for me to describe my feelings about this. This is a serious matter, to offer one’s important internal organ is a huge sacrifice,” he said in a news report today.
“I’m very thankful to God for sending these kind-hearted people to me,” said Ebby, 54, who also has a heart problem and chronic gastritis.
On the identity of the woman, Ebby said: “I first got to know her when she came to instal the WiFi service at my house. At the time I wasn’t sick yet. But a week before Ramadan, she texted me to ask about my blood type as kidney donation requires compatability in blood type,” he said.
Ebby, whose full name is Muhammad Yunus Abdul Rashid, however said that according to the doctors, he was in stable condition and recovering well.
This means he does not need to go for dialysis or opt for organ transplant.
Meanwhile, Ebby said that although he was still getting acting offers, he would only accept them when his condition would allow him to do so, as he still needed to go for regular treatment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
