KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong actress Elaine Yiu has slammed Netizens who recently accused her of being a “homewrecker".
In a recent news report by Hong Kong’s East Week magazine, the accusations by Netizens were the result of a viral photo of Yiu sharing an intimate moment with her former beau Raymond Young.
Business executive Young's divorce from his former wife Sarika Choy was not yet finalised when he decided to woo Yiu last year. He allegedly tried to win back Choy for two years beginning January 2017, while courting Yiu and another unnamed woman.
East Week reported that Yiu, the star of the drama series Revolving Doors Of Vengeance insisted that Young had told her his relationship with Choy was over when they began dating.
She also stated this in a recent Instagram post which read: “I am an ordinary human being. My silence does not mean I am frightened. My conscience is clear. Thank you.”
Yiu also said she and Young had parted on good terms and described herself as a “victim”. The photo was a selfie allegedly taken by Young.
Young, who was later interviewed by Oriental Daily News, said: “When Elaine and I were together, I was already separated from my wife. We were in the process of getting a divorce. The pictures were definitely not sent by me.
“I don’t want to say much further. The fact is I was separated for two years. I am single right now. Dating is normal.”
