KUALA LUMPUR: The death of celebrity chef Adam Mahamed Ismail, 29, on May 19 has been widely mourned by family and friends.
Social media celebrity Fatimah Omar Mukhlis, 4, Adam’s niece and god-daughter, has missed him the most especially on Father’s Day yesterday.
As a loving tribute to “Mamajee”, Fatimah and her younger brother Ali, 3, created a special Father’s Day card each for Adam, and displayed them on their family’s Instagram account The Family UK.
The cards which were decorated with hand-drawn hearts, stars and cute animals contained the words “love” and “dad” on them.
In the caption to the photo of the cards, Fatimah said that she and Ali created two Father’s Day cards each, with similar messages and designs. One was for Adam and the other was for their real father Omar Mukhlis Azizan, 37.
“Happy Father's Day, dad. One is for my real dad and the other is for my dad in heaven,” said Fatimah.
The cards for Adam also contained photos of Fatimah and Ali with him.
Netizens commended Fatimah and Ali for their labour of love to their late “Mamajee”. Many of them were moved to tears.
“So sweet, Fatimah and Ali. I’m crying right now. Miss you Chef Adam,” said Asiah.
“Beautiful, Fatimah. I’m sure Mamajee will be very happy,” said Aidil.
“Happy Father’s Day Adam. We all miss you. Stay strong kids,” said Ain.
Adam died of a lung infection on May 19, at the age of 29.
He was buried in his family’s hometown in Telipot, Pasir Mas, Kelantan.
The chef who participated in Hero Oven Season 2 on TV3 was the younger brother of Fatimah’s and Ali’s mother Nor Ashila Mahamed Ismail, 37.
Nor Ashila and Omar, who also have an 11-year-old son Omar Mukhtar, live in Birmingham, the United Kingdom.
Fatimah has been charming Netizens since last year with her endearing ability to speak in the Kelantan Malay dialect and her Instagram posts have garnered more than 600,000 followers.
She also speaks standard Malay, English and Thai, and was nominated in the Popular Social Media Personality category of the 31st Anugerah Bintang Popular BH (ABPBH).
