#Showbiz: Family had nothing to do with our divorce, says Fizo Omar

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Fizo Omar regrets the speculations made by Netizens and how certain quarters have manipulated the statements he and Mawar Abdul Karim had made regarding their divorce recently.

In an interview with TV3’s Melodi yesterday, Fizo, 33, said that some Netizens had jumped into conclusion saying that the family members from both sides had a hand in their divorce.

“As I had taken the responsibility of caring for my mother, some even called me Mummy’s boy... and that I had neglected my responsibility as Mawar’s husband,” he said.

Fizo, whose full name is Wan Hafizol Wan Omar, also said that even after the divorce, the relationship between Mawar and his mother, as well as his with Mawar’s family continued to be fine.

He also hoped that Netizens would stop making assumptions based on their own intertpretation of what he and Mawar said, as those could end up as mere accusations which would hurt more people.

“While I don’t really pay attention to the comments left on social media, some of them have reached my mother and they have somehow impacted her emotionally. Please stop this. It’s better if you guys pray for that everything goes well for all of us instead of making baseless accusations,” he said.

Fizo and Mawar divorced with a single “talak” on July 10. They married in 2013 and have a two-year-old daughter, Wan Maryam.
