#Showbiz: Bella wishes for a smooth divorce, Aliff reluctant to comment

KUALA LUMPUR: "Hopefully everything goes smoothly and there are no problems. Pray for me."

That was what actress and singer Bella Astillah, 30, said when she arrived for the second mention of her divorce application against her husband, Aliff Aziz, at the Federal Territories Syariah Court in Jalan Duta, here, today.

Bella, whose real name is Dayang Nabellah Awang Astillah, arrived at the court at approximately 11.49 am, accompanied by her mother, Zarinah Astillah, and her sister, Didi Astillah, according to a Berita Harian report.

However, Aliff, who arrived at the court at around noon, while being closely guarded by three individuals believed to be his bodyguards, was reluctant to meet the media and rushed to the council hall.

Aliff was accompanied by his father Aziz Sapdan, and mother Siti Hafizah Basharahil.

Siti Hafizah asked the media to be patient while Aziz requested that everyone pray for the best for their child.

Bella's syariah lawyer Azmi Mohd Rais said that during this proceeding, Aliff was expected to express his stance as to whether he agreed or not (with Bella's request for a divorce).

"If not, they need to go through the Conciliatory Committee (JKP) process. What issues (Bella) raised last night, we will answer after the case," he said.

Previously, Bella filed for divorce from Aliff, 33, on March 11 at the Federal Territories Syariah Court, here.

Following the conclusion of the first mention before Judge Wan Mohd Najib Wan Hamat, Bella, who was met by the media, reportedly said she was determined to divorce Aliff.

Last month, Bella and Aliff became the talk of the town after he was arrested with fellow artiste Ruhainines, 32, for alleged khalwat in a luxury condominium, here.
