KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress Lisa Surihani, a proud mother of two, would have had twins, had she not suffered a miscarriage.
The Ombak Rindu and Geng star revealed it on a recent women’s talk show that her first child Yahaira Leanne Yusry, 4, was supposed to have a twin.
“Twins were on the way, but I lost one. Back then my husband Yusry and I were very excited, as we were looking forward to having twins.
“But sadly, when I went for a subsequent medical check-up, the doctor told me some shocking news, one of my babies no longer had a heartbeat and I had to let it go," she said in a news report today.
Lisa who is married to KRU singer-actor Yusry Abdul Halim said that even though she and Yusry mourned the loss of one twin, they accepted it as God’s will, and were thankful that their first child Yahaira was delivered safe and sound.
“Yahaira is doing great and she brings us joy every moment of our lives. Two years later, her younger brother Yusof Leonne came, and the two have been inseparable.”
Lisa, 33, and Yusry, 46, were married in 2012. He was previously married to singer-actress Erra Fazira from 2003 to 2006.
