#Showbiz: BTS tops Billboard's Hot Tours Recap after successful Japan concerts

KUALA LUMPUR: Global K-Pop phenomenon BTS has conquered the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Tours recap for Aug 3 after four mega successful concerts last month.

According to Soompi, Billboard Boxscore had announced that the seven-member music outfit had grossed a total of USD20.3 million (about RM84.1 million) for the four shows which sold a whopping 208,707 tickets collectively.

Billboard had said that BTS’ extended Love Yourself: Speak Yourself stadium tour had grossed USD99.3 million (about RM411.5 million) since it kicked off on May 4 at the famous Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles.

The month of May saw the group performing in eight US shows, which made its tour the top-grossing tour of the month.

BTS then went on to wow fans in London and Paris in June. The group followed this with the quartet of shows in Osaka on July 6 and 7 and Shizuoka on July 13 and 14.

Billboard’s latest Current Boxscore chart sees the Shizuoka concerts taking the No. 2 spot while the Osaka shows are at No. 3.

Apparently, each of the eight venues that BTS has performed on its first ever stadium tour have earned spots in the Top 10 list of Billboard’s Boxscore chart.

According to Billboard, the popular K-Pop outfit had so far managed an average gross of USD6.2 million (about RM25.7 million), as well as 50,945 tickets sold per show.

With four more concerts, consisting of three in South Korea and one in Saudi Arabia, to go, it certainly looks like the group’s Love Yourself: Speak Yourself stadium world tour will easily break the nine-figure gross mark!
