#Showbiz: Faizal Tahir, 1st artiste with own KL mural

KUALA LUMPUR: Fancy having your album cover as a tourist attraction in the federal capital?

Award-winning singer, songwriter and composer Faizal Tahir has achieved just that, and he is the first Malaysian artiste with a mural depicting the cover of his latest album.

The 41-year-old artiste had the cover of his album Rojak unveiled recently at Kasturi Walk next to the Central Market in Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock.

It was drawn and painted by popular street artist Katun or Ab Hafiz Ab Rahman.

Faizal himself autographed the mural which was on the side of a shophouse, and he, together with City Hall project coordinator Marzuki Ahmad launched it.

“I want to thank Katun and City Hall for this fantastic work of art. It means a lot more since Rojak is my last album and one that offers a lot of diversity in music,” he said in a news report today.

Rojak has nine tracks and these include Ragaman, Bisa Aja, Starfeather and Ratu which have been receiving good airplay.

The album also has Fire And Water, the theme song for the new animated film BoBoiBoy Movie 2 produced by Animonsta Studios.

Rojak is produced by Faizal’s company Faithful Music, and Warner Music Malaysia is its distributor.

It has been on sale since its launch on Aug 2, and is also available on digital platforms Spotify, Apple Music, Joox, KKBox, Deezer and iTunes.
