#Showbiz: 'It's taking a long time but trust me,' says BlackPink's Rose on solo tune

KUALA LUMPUR: After rumours that she was not being treated as well as her BlackPink members began circulating online, Rose recently revealed that she was working hard on her solo release.

According to Koreaboo, the idol from the international K-Pop music outfit talked about her current work on promoting her solo tune via Instagram Live.

The talented 22-year-old said: “And I know that a lot of you guys are very, very curious about how much I have prepared with my solo (material) and I’m so happy that you guys are like that. I’m working on it all the time.”

Commenting on a release date, she said: “The question about when it is, I cannot say yet I think. I don’t know if you guys know me very well but I want it to be perfect and I want it to be a certain way. I’m very strict on that stuff because it means a lot to me and I know you guys respect that about my personality. I know that it’s taking a long time but please trust me on that.”

Rose then added: “There is a right timing for everything and I don't want to rush anything.”

With regards to not updating her social media accounts, the idol also said: “And know that when I become silent or when you guys can’t see me, you also know that those are like some times that I’m actually working on things for you guys. I know that it’s really frustrating when I don’t update you about my life.”

Fans, or Blinks as they’re known, have responded with both joy and cynicism.

While some pointed out that YG Entertainment did not have the best track record when it comes to releasing music on time, others speculated that Rose might have been told to stage the Instagram live session after her posts alluding to mistreatment went viral.

Mostly, fans were just happy to hear the news from the talented idol.

Even BlackPink member Jisoo recently tweeted that: “Rose basically told us that her solo is coming and that she's really excited and in full control of it so when it gets released everyone better support her!”

Last April, Yang Hyun Suk, the CEO of BlackPink’s agency YG Entertainment, revealed that Rose was going to be the next member of the hot quartet after Jennie to release a solo track.

In an email interview with Forbes Korea, Rose had offered a tease of what to expect. She said: “I covered Halsey’s Eyes Closed and posted it on YouTube, Instagram and Soundcloud, and my fans’ responses were hot. I would like to try and sing a song full of soul that can showcase my vocals.”
