#Showbiz: Big Hit threatens legal action over BTS' Jungkook dating rumours

KUALA LUMPUR: It was just a matter of time before one of the clean cut members of K-Pop juggernaut BTS would be embroiled in dating rumours.

According to Koreaboo, CCTV pictures of what apparently looked like Jungkook with a woman were leaked earlier today.

This quickly sparked rumours that the 22-year-old idol was in a relationship with the unidentified person.

But BTS' agency, Big Hit Entertainment, took it seriously and quickly shut down the rumours.

The company that manages the uber successful South Korean boy band released a statement that promised legal action against the person who leaked the images.

It read: "Big Hit Entertainment would like to make it clear that the claims regarding our artiste, Jungkook, that are being made on social media right now are not true."

"Jungkook found out that his friends from a tattoo shop were in the area while he was visiting Geoje Island during his vacation. Jungkook met with his friends from the tattoo shop and his friends on Geoje Island, and together, they had a meal and then went for a karaoke session. This is the truth that has been distorted."

It further added: "We regret that such trivial matters from our artiste’s personal life during his vacation have been so distorted. We will be taking legal action for the leak of private information and the violation of privacy after investigating whether the CCTV footage was leaked or illegally filmed."

It ended with: "In addition, we will also take legal action against those who spread false information."
