#Showbiz: Unfair to blame my family for getting involved, says Neelofa on sister's rocky marriage

KUALA LUMPUR: Blood is thicker than water and popular TV host and actress Neelofa is adamant in supporting and defending her sister, Noor Nabila, 34, who is going through a rough patch in her marriage with actor Sharnaaz Ahmad, 34.

But the 30-year-old celebrity, whose full name is Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor, thinks that no one should make the assumption that she has frequently interfered in the marital affairs of her elder sister.

In a news report today, she reckoned that Sharnaaz's family members would be concerned for him too and would show their support via the social media platform.

“I feel that it's unfair to blame my family for getting involved in Nabila's affairs since she is my sister and also the daughter of my mother.”

“I'm certain that his family has also voiced concerns on social media. So it's not right to point fingers at any party since we are all in the same situation. We're supporting and voicing our concerns,” she added.

Aside from sympathising with her sister's predicament, Neelofa said that she was disappointed with Sharnaaz's decision to drag on the unfortunate marital mess by refusing her request for a divorce.

“As a sibling and housemate to my sister, I feel that the matter has gone on for long enough. I really feel sorry for her. The incident should have been wrapped up quickly and with ease. But due to certain matters, this issue has become a long and complicated affair."

She added: "This process has certainly made her a more mature person though. I hope she will be more aware and careful in the future."

Neelofa explained that her family members, relatives and friends were supportive of Nabila and would always be there for her.

“All I can say is that, at the moment, Nabila is happy and has begun a new life and we all love Jebat very much," she said.

Sharnaaz wed Nabila on March 31, 2017 and they have a 15-month-old son, Jebat Jayden.

Following the actor’s refusal to divorce his wife on Sept 11, the two have been ordered to appoint a conciliatory committee (JKP) with the aim to come to an amicable solution to the situation.
