#Showbiz: 'Ejen Ali The Movie' rakes in RM6.4mil in 3 days

KUALA LUMPUR: After only three days of being screened in 162 cinemas across Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, animated feature film, Ejen Ali The Movie, has collected some RM6.4 million at the box office.

Primeworks Studios CEO, Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar, said that the highly-anticipated movie’s entertaining storyline had led to its success in ticket sales, in addition to its release during the current school holiday season.

“Various factors have motivated us to develop the best product as a show of support to our viewers and fans who make a point to watch local productions, especially animation works of international standards,” he said in a news report yesterday.

“We are very thankful and extremely grateful for the positive feedback we’ve received so far from diverse groups of viewers who have given the movie five stars,” he added.

Ahmad Izham said that the long, year-end school holiday would certainly make a big impact on the movie as many families went to the cinemas to check it out.

“We hope that more people will make the effort to catch our special agent’s latest thrilling adventure in the cinemas together, whether with family members or friends,” he said.

Prior to this, Ejen Ali The Movie had collected a whopping RM1.8 million at the box office during its premiere screening last Thursday.

The movie, produced by Primeworks Studios and Wau Animation, centres on the adventures of a group of young spies working for the Meta Advance Tactical Agency (MATA) who are tasked with protecting the futuristic city of Cyberaya from any hostile threats.
