#Showbiz: IU 'threatens' fans at the airport?

KUALA LUMPUR: After some recent mishaps involving overly enthusiastic fans, popular K-Pop star IU has threatened them with an ultimatum for their own good.

According to Koreaboo, fans usually gather at airports to catch a glimpse or snap a quick selfie with their favourite idols and sometimes it can get quite rowdy or unsafe.

Apparently, when the 26-year-old singer-songwriter and actress, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, landed at Incheon International Airport in South Korea after a recent concert in Manila, Philippines, as usual, fans had gathered to see her in the flesh.

It was reported that a group of fans had suddenly fallen over due to the excessive pushing and jostling amongst them.

IU later addressed the unfortunate incident by posting a stern warning to her fans online which read: “If even one person falls over at the airport from now on, I won’t give you vacation cookies anymore!”

The Korean star is apparently known to have brought back vacation cookies for her fans every time she travels outside her home country. This has been a tradition of sorts for her since 2012.

Malaysian fans can wonder what IU will bring back after her maiden concert here on Saturday at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

Her concert is part of her ongoing series of shows, dubbed the 2019 IU Tour Concert
