#Showbiz: Murder suspect in Puteri Caroline's sister's case dies

KUALA LUMPUR: Three days after the fatal stabbing of singer Puteri Caroline Mohd Kamel’s sister, the prime suspect who was detained by police has died.

In a news report on Sunday, Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Rajab Ahad Ismail said that the 43-year-old man, believed to be Lady Caccabella Mohd Kamel’s boyfriend, died at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital on Saturday.

The suspect had been warded there since Feb 5, the day police found the body of Lady Caccabella with stab wounds at a house in Kampung Padang Balang, Sentul.

Detained at the crime scene, the man was treated for vomiting blood and shortness of breath, after attempting to drink floor cleaning liquid.

“The suspect was promptly rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment, but he died yesterday. Police investigations into the case will continue,” said Rajab.

The case has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Lady Caccabella, 24, was the younger sister of rock singer Puteri Caroline, who won TV3 reality show Mentor 6 in 2012.

The sisters are from Tanah Merah, Kelantan, and Lady Caccabella served at the Security Department of Prasarana Malaysia as a trainee auxillary policewoman.

Puteri Caroline was the protege of rock queen Ella Aminuddin. As a team, they won the grand prize of RM100,000 in Mentor 6, beating five other proteges and mentors.

The other proteges were Tisha Shamsir, whose mentor was Singaporean singer Ferhad, Kadir Jailani Unding (Adam Mat Saman), Ana Syuhada Asram (Ramlah Ram), Zatul Hussin (Fauziah Ahmad Daud), and Anas Ridzuan (Faizal Tahir).
