#Showbiz: Nur Sajat faces arrest for failing to appear in court

KUALA LUMPUR: A warrant of arrest against cosmetics entrepreneur Nur Sajat Kamaruzzaman has been issued by the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court, for failing to appear in court yesterday.

Nur Sajat has been charged with possession with intent to sell 11 products which are not registered with the Health Ministry, under Regulation 7(1) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1984.

If convicted, Sajat faces a fine not exceeding RM25,000 or three years' jail or both.

In a news report today, the Selangor Health Department's Pharmaceutical Enforcement Branch revealed that it had conducted a raid of Nur Sajat's business premises in Shah Alam last Aug 15. It found the 11 products and confiscated them.

On Dec 14, 2018, the entrepreneur was arraigned in the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court on a charge under Section 41(6) of the Goods and Services Tax Act 2014.

Nur Sajat was also charged in Johor Baru on May 12 last year after the ministry's enforcement officers conficated 19 beauty products worth RM10,000 which were not registered at a premise in Bandar Baru Uda.
