#Showbiz: Cast and crew of drama series test positive for Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: Six of the cast and crew of a drama production which had been filming in Inverness, Scotland last month, including its director have tested positive for Covid-19.

The director, Rahila Ali Enam was quoted in a news report yesterday that she was infected with the virus.

Others who also contracted the virus were actress Puteri Aishah and four others from the team.

All of them had gone for screening at a private hospital.

“Yes, all six of us have been found positive for Covid-19. I received the result yesterday, while the other five found out today.

“Neither of us had shown any symptoms like fever, sore throat or breathing difficulties. However, as the result showed, unfortunately we’ve been tested positive for Covid-19,” she said.

Rahila also said that upon their arrival from the United Kingdom on March 31, all 18 of them followed the guidelines from the government to self-quarantine for 14 days.

For the moment, Rahila said all six of them were waiting for further reports and instructions from the Ministry of Health (MOH), seeing that all hospitals overseeing Covid-19 patients were reportedly full.

“Right now we are all at home and waiting to do the second screening at the hospital once we’re admitted,” said Rahila who admitted that they were a little worried and hoped that everyone would pray for their recovery.

The production departed from Malaysia on March 9 before the Movement Control Order (MCO) was announced by the government.

Among the cast lineup in the drama series are Ashraf Muslim, Ben Amir, Hasnul Rahmat and Puteri Rayyana Rayqa.
