#Showbiz: Delegasi Anak Seni rolls out #apakhabaranakseni campaign

KUALA LUMPUR: A campaign to strengthen ties among creative industry (CI) workers and to check in on one another especially during this pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO) has been launched recently.

Called Apa Khabar Anak Seni?, it is initiated by Delegasi Anak Seni, members from different segments of the creative industry with the sole intention to unite, to reach and to say "we are here and we will help each other".

In a press statement today, the group said that the initiative was aimed at focusing on the mental, emotional, financial and the general well-being of CI workers.

It is also aimed at looking for ways to put their creative arts skills to use following the setback faced by the creative industry as a result of the coronavirus.

Actress Daiyan Trisha said: "In times when the industry needs to be temporarily shut down during this pandemic, we are also unable to work.

"No shows, no shoots, no productions. I'm sharing this to ask you how you are doing. Let's share.

The 27-year-old artiste said she had been filling up her time with songwriting and creating digital content.

"I miss acting, filming and bouncing creative energy with my industry colleagues. Let us pray that we can go back to making arts soon," she said.

The campaign is a social responsibility in an effort work at reviving the industry via social media.

It also aims to find other alternatives in providing their creative arts services.

Using the hashtag #apakhabaranakseni, it is hoped that more CI workers are able to connect with one another and to raise public awareness of the dire situation faced by the creative industry in times of a pandemic.

Actress Sharifah Amani, 35, said: "I believe our duty is beyond the entertainment circle. We capture the stories of now, so that maybe one day, our future generations may learn from it."
