#Showbiz: Ahmad Fedtri Yahya's brother succumbs to Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: Jejak Rasul host and songwriter Ahmad Fedtri Yahya's elder brother Zahari died of Covid-19 early this morning.

Ahmad Fedtri shared the sad news with Netizens on Instagram at noon. In his post he said: "With a heavy heart, I wish to inform you that my elder brother Zahari has just passed away after a brief battle with the Covid-19 coronavirus."

Netizens, especially artiste friends of Ahmad Fedtri, expressed their heartfelt condolences, and urged him to stay strong.

"Salam takziah Fedtri. May your elder brother rest in peace and be placed amongst the righteous," said singer Liza Hanim.

Sarawakian singer Sharifah Zarina said: "So sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Zahari."

On July 20, Ahmad Fedtri revealed that his 72-year-old father was tested positive for Covid-19 and had to spend Hari Raya Aidil Adha in hospital.

He also said that Zahari and his family were Covid-19 positive and had to be hospitalised.

Ahmad Fedtri, 39, hails from Pantai Remis in Perak and has been hosting television programmes such as Malaysia Hari Ini, Scoreboard, and Jejak Rasul on TV3 since 2003.

He has acted in the film Dunia Baru The Movie, and written songs for Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Misha Omar, Noraniza Idris, and Datuk Nora Ariffin.
