KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Wan Aishah Wan Ariffin and her husband of five years have been separated for the past three months.
"It's true, we are separated now. However, the talak hasn't been pronounced yet.
"When I got married for the fourth time, I had hoped that this would last till the end," confessed the 56-year-old in a news report today.
Aishah said that it was not her intention to announce the status of her marriage to the man whose identity had never been revealed, to the public, but as a well-known figure, she needed to do so to avoid "fitnah" should she be seen with her male business partners in future.
"I also hope everyone would respect my privacy by not asking the cause that lead to this separation. I just don't want to point fingers on others. Let's just take it that this marriage was only meant to last for five years," said Aishah who was glad that she has her two sons as pillar for support.
