#Showbiz: Susan Lankester wins award at Asian Academy Creative Award 2021

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Susan Lankester won Best Comedy Performance at the recent Asian Academy Creative Awards 2021(AACA 2021) held in Singapore.

The 59-year-old artiste won the award for her role as Mama Don in the second season of Malaysian crime comedy series Keluarga Baha Don which is currently streaming on Viu.

Lankester who has starred in films, TV and teatre productions such as Mekanik, Femina, Redha, 2+1, Natrah and The Bridge said that she was surprised by the win.

"At first I had no idea of the win until I was contacted by a representative from the organisers who congratulated me.

"I asked the person what this was all about. Then I was told that I had won the award for Best Comedy Performance which came as a total surprise.

"I only have a lot of gratitude and excitement for this win," she said in a Harian Metro report yesterday.

Lankester beat other nominated artistes from the Asia Pacific region which included the Asean countries, Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Korea.

Meanwhile, Gegar Vaganza: Season 7 (GV7) produced by Astro also garnered an award at AACA 2021 for Best Music or Dance Program.
