#Showbiz: Avoid giving food with gravy to flood victims, says Fazley Yaakob

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and celebrity chef Datuk Fazley Yaakob has sensible words of advice to volunteers involved in providing food and necessities to flood victims around the country.

In a recent Instagram Story post, he said that publicising one's act of giving on social media was most unwise, as it would be deemed arrogant by many.

"It is good to help flood victims, but not necessary or wise to publicise the act on social media, for fear of being perceived as arrogant," said Fazley.

He also said that food should not be filled with gravy or santan, and it was best to give flood victims food that did not turn stale easily.

"It would be a pity if the food you gave them turned stale easily, as it can no longer be consumed. Food with gravy or santan should be avoided."

Fazley also said that food should be placed in containers which enabled flood victims to consume it easily.

"Provide them with proper containers, forks and spoons. Do not give them food tied up in plastic bags, for this means that they will have to find their own containers," he said.
