#Showbiz: Buble wanted to stop singing after son's cancer battle

KUALA LUMPUR: When his then 2-year-old son Noah was diagnosed with cancer, Canadian singer Michael Buble actually thought of hanging up the microphone for good.

AsiaOne reported recently that the man behind hits as Sway and Come Fly With Me was devastated to learn that Noah had hepatoblastoma in 2016.

Watching the gruelling treatment his son had to undergo made him seriously think of giving up his thriving musical career.

"I fell apart. I didn't think I was ever going to come back to music. It just didn't matter to me anymore," said 46-year-old Buble.

Fortunately, Noah fully recovered and Buble was overjoyed. He thanked his wife of 11 years Luisana Lopilato, 34, for "pulling him out of the darkness".

"My wife motivated me to not give up and carried me to a point where I was better than before," said Buble.

"No matter what life throws your way, don't give up, always bounce back stronger. That is what she told me."

Besides 8-year-old Noah, Buble and Lopilato have two other children — Elias, 6 and Vida, 3.

Buble, who hails from British Columbia, first found fame in 2005 with his fourth album It's Time which reached the top 10 in Canadian music charts.

His subsequent album Call Me Irresponsible (2007) reached No.1 in the Canadian and British charts as well as the United States' Billboard 200.

Buble has 11 studio albums to his credit, sold over 75 million records worldwide and won numerous awards, including four Grammy Awards.
