#Showbiz: Yuna saddened by death of 17-month-old niece due to Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: International singer-songwriter Yuna took to social media to express her sadness at the recent death of her 17-month-old niece Arisa Naura who succumbed to Covid-19.

In an Instagram Story, the Los Angeles-based 36-year-old artiste shared the tragic news that her niece had to fight for her life during her last 12 hours.

Yuna, who is believed to be in Malaysia at the moment, also revealed that her niece had died at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah in Klang, Selangor.

Part of the long caption read: "Yesterday was tough. My niece Arisa Naura had passed away yesterday in Klang hospital in Malaysia due to Covid after fighting for her life for about 12 hours.

"Thank you Allah for lending us a cute, happy and bubbly angel. We knew Arisa was special the very moment she came into our lives, we didn't know we were blessed with a beautiful gift," she wrote.

Yuna added: "What a rare, beautiful and powerful presence she was. Even if it was short, like a full circle rainbow after a storm, a 5-minute rain in a drought, a bright, fiery shooting star that suddenly appears in a starless night sky.

"I am so proud to be your aunt and am so glad I got to see you just last week that I will cherish forever," she said.
